School of Biblical Studies (SBS, of the 3rd quarter) held the Bible Touch Seminar in the evenings on August 5th and 6th.

Thirty participants jointed together from UofN Jeju and outside of the campus, and learned the inductive bible study method and practiced on Philemon. There were also other seminars and workshop as well to challenge and help the participants to know that the Bible is not difficulty, it’s joyful to learn.

Young-Ran Seo, who directed the seminar, said, “There is a word play in the title of the seminar. The word, touch, has meaning in this generation of digital technology, to open or to play. It is to say that the Holy Spirit would touch our hearts when we touch the Bible with expectation.” The Bible Touch Seminar (BTS) was prepares to be a starting point for the participants to experience the touch of God through His Word.

The Bible Touch seminar was significant because it reached out to people explaining a bible study method that SBS pursues and helping them to learn. There is a campus ministry fair once a every quarter in UofN Jeju, but they did not wait until peolpe to come but reached out to the community.

“SBS in the 3rd Quarter is easy, fun, and joyful school. Many people don’t even start to think a possibility to come to SBS because they think that it is hard or is for some special people. We wanted to break the stereotype. Starting this seminar, we are planning to have more seminars in coming years. And we would go to other YWAM bases as well. For instance, there will another BTS in February 10th and 11th in 2020. In a seminar next year, we will talk about basic bible study method and focus on a book in the bible,” Young-Ran said.

BTS (the Bible Touch Seminar) is open for everyone either YWAMers, their families, and believers in local. If you love the Word and want to learn how to study the Bible, if you want to be touched by the Word, you might want to contact SBS for further information. (by General Editor)
